It is the 36th largest city in Maryland and the 1305th largest city in the United States. The city is located roughly halfway between Baltimore and Annapolis. It is served by Maryland Route 177. The population is mostly auto-driven, although there are some bus and train services available. The nearest Amtrak station is located in Baltimore, about 10 miles away.
