The Hammond Harwood House is a lesser-known attraction, but it also has an excellent collection of objects. It's located on Maryland Avenue, where you'll also find some of the city's best shops. You can also stop by the Galway Bay Irish Pub for an authentic Irish meal. You'll also want to visit William Paca House and Gardens, the home of a signer of the Declaration of Independence, with its 2 acres of gardens and re-enactments.

The Hammond-Harwood House houses a collection of Maryland's finest art. The architectural style of the house is reminiscent of Georgian architecture. It was designed by William Buckland, an architect and mathematician. The house's collection includes a collection of Charles Willson Peale paintings, as well as pieces by John Shaw.

The museum features a new exhibition titled Annapolis: An American Story. Visitors will learn about the city's colorful history and how it shaped the nation. The Museum of Historic Annapolis is located at the corner of Green and Main streets. The city was built on a hill and became the country's capital when the Treaty of Paris was signed. Four of the founding fathers lived in Annapolis. A great post

Before the Revolutionary War, Annapolis was an important port for shipping barrels of tobacco to England. In addition, sailing ships would return to the harbor with goods for sale. Some of the ships would even bring slaves. One famous slave from Africa, Kunta Kinte, was brought to the country by a ship to Annapolis. However, after the Revolutionary War, the harbor became smaller and the town's shipping business was lost to the growing Port of Baltimore. Later, smaller boats harvested oysters and crabs from the shallow waters of the Chesapeake.
