Four of the founding fathers lived in Annapolis. A great post

Before the Revolutionary War, Annapolis was an important port for shipping barrels of tobacco to England. In addition, sailing ships would return to the harbor with goods for sale. Some of the ships would even bring slaves. One famous slave from Africa, Kunta Kinte, was brought to the country by a ship to Annapolis. However, after the Revolutionary War, the harbor became smaller and the town's shipping business was lost to the growing Port of Baltimore. Later, smaller boats harvested oysters and crabs from the shallow waters of the Chesapeake.
